The Horseshoes is a 15th Century Inn set in the midst of Kent’s garden of England. In the days before literacy was widespread, taverns would use symbols to represent their name and this name probably came about because ale was sold in or nearby a blacksmiths.

Maidstone is surrounded by picturesque countryside villages and attractions. Highlights include Leeds Castle and the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while Yalding Organic Gardens and Stoneacre appeal to dedicated gardeners. Take a stroll along the Maidstone Millennium River Park or visit the Museum of Kent Life for a fascinating insight into rural life in Kent.

Guests will be able to browse a new menu which includes a wide variety of freshly prepared classic pub dishes such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. There is also a separate lunch menu offering freshly made sandwiches and salads, perfect if you’re just nipping in for a quick bite.

Look out for the blackboard showing today’s specials, and the thoughtfully selected range of delicious vegetarian options.

There is an extensive wine selection to compliment the menu as well as a variety of continental lagers. There is no need to book, just come in and we'll look after you.

The Horseshoes boasts a stylish interior which adds to the traditional charm and character of the building. Features include roaring open fires, low beam ceilings and several cosy areas to relax in. Guests will get great, friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere which is situated in a peaceful village location with views of the neighbouring horseriding stables and paddock.
